Adbolton Kindergarten was opened in 1982 and Trent fields opened in 1984, both being privately run. They are both registered by Ofsted, are members of the National Day Nurseries Association are also fully comply with the Child Protection Procedures. Our commitment to excellence has achieved the prestigious NDNA Quality Counts Award (now part of the Investor in Children Programme) in 2003. Our nurseries have the use of the excellent facilities at Manor Farm Animal Centre and Donkey Sanctuary. Visits are organised regularly, primarily on a fun basis whilst promoting the “learning through play” objectives and introducing them to the environment. Each child is treated as an individual from birth through to school years and we provide first class care in a safe and stimulating environment.

Our aim is to deliver “Best Childcare Practice” which we are proud of.

We provide a well-balanced day, including indoor and outdoor play to enable each child to develop emotionally, socially, linguistically, intellectually and physically. Children are encouraged to undertake a wide range of activities encompassing all types of art, creative work and music in accordance with the Early Years Curriculum and the foundation stage. Good behaviour and manners are encouraged at all times.
We place a high importance investing in an on-going programme of refurbishment and upgrading to ensure that we continue to offer excellent and up-to-date childcare and early years development facilities. Our nursery rooms offer a friendly, comfortable and caring
environment for children, staff and parents/carers. All rooms have a carpeted area for quiet times, stories and table top activities and a practical area for messy play in sand, water, paint, craft, etc.
Children enjoy learning through fun and lots of opportunities are created for role-play / dressing up, etc. Children are encouraged to develop confident social and communication skills by joining in and expressing themselves during group sessions and “circle time”. There are plenty of opportunities to practice basic skills in reading, writing and number work and development records are maintained to show their progress. Older children also receive an introduction to computer technology and French.
